How the rumour started?

When the second episode dropped on October 18, the rumours about the ban of “Chainsaw Man” began to circulate. Fans took to Twitter and shared the news. Among those tweets, one tweet read, “So I heard Chainsaw Man is getting banned from the US”.

These rumours were then backed by one user in the replies who referred an article from CBR. In that article, CBR talked about the tweet made by US Consumer Product Safety Commission. In that tweet, the commission commented about Chainsaw Man.

However, one Twitter user rightfully pointed that the context of the said tweet was interpreted in a different way. Some users also said that the commission was just making a funny comment. Other people, however, told that the ban might be because of its gory storyline.

This tweet was followed by, “There’s a chainsaw dog?” and “Seems like this calls for some chainsaw safety tips. Note: If you yourself are a chainsaw, tips may not apply”. The government agency then followed up the rest of tweets by jokingly advising the safety tips.
