Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2 Anime New Video Explained: Cast, Preview & Theme Songs

On Wednesday, the official website for the television anime Komi Can’t Communicate broadcasted a new promotional video for season 2. The video introduces new cast members and teases the new opening and closing theme tunes.

Tomohito Oda is the writer and illustrator of the manga series Komi Can’t Communicate. Since May 2016, it has been in Shogakukan’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday. With chapters collected in twenty-four tanks on volumes as of January 2022. Viz Media has the North American distribution rights to the series.

From September to November 2021, an eight-episode live-action television drama adaptation aired. While an anime television series adaptation by OLM ran from October to December of the same year. Episode 2 will release in April 2022. Netflix has acquired the anime series for international streaming.

The Komi Can’t Communicate manga has over 6 million copies in print as of December 2021. Also, the manga received the 67th Shogakukan Manga Award for the shonen category in 2022.

Komi Can't Communicate Season 2

The anime’s first season debuted on TV Tokyo and other stations on October 6, last year. On October 7, the animation became fully available on Netflix in Japan.

The anime was outside of Japan on Netflix on October 21, two weeks after its Japanese premiere, with weekly new episodes. The service may broadcast an English dub. Also, the anime is available on Netflix in over 190 countries and territories in eight dubbed languages and 31 subtitled languages.

The animation was directed at OLM by Kazuki Kawagoe (Beyblade Burst God storyboarder and episode director) and Ayumu Watanabe (Mysterious Girlfriend X, After the Rain, Kids of the Sea). Deko Akao (Snow White with the Crimson Hair, Noragami, Flying Witch) was in sequence creation. The characters were Atsuko Nakajima (Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, Ranma 12, Tokyo Ghoul). The opening theme song, “Cinderella,” was by Cider Woman. Also, the last theme song, “Hikareinochi,” was performed by Kitri.

Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2 Release Date

Along with the news that Komi Can’t Communicate is new for a second season, it is that the popular anime series would return in April 2022.

The popular show’s season 2 episode 1 would air in Japan on April 6, 2022 – April 7 since the programming block begins at midnight JST.

The speedy turnaround for Komi Can’t Communicate is undoubtedly due to the availability of source material. Also, the nature of having several mini-episodes in each broadcast, as in The Way of the Househusband.

However, fans outside of Japan should be aware that the April 6th premiere will only cover the local debut of season 2.

Assuming Netflix acquires the worldwide broadcasting rights for season 2. The anime is likely to return to the streaming giant two weeks after its local release. Also, the same as it did for the first season.
