Meet Adjetey Anang, a Ghanaian Actor Nominated for EMY Actor of The Year

Meet one of the most popular and accomplished Ghanaian actors — Adjetey Anang. Last year, the actor won the Actor of the year award 2021 at the 6th EMY Africa Awards.

The man is in nominations yet again in the same category. Will he bring the trophy home again like the last time? That only time will tell. The voting process for the 7th EMY Africa Awards was wrapped up on 22nd September.


Who is Adjetey Anang?

Adjetey Anang is a Ghanaian actor famous for his role as Pusher in the TV series— Things We Do For Love. He was born on 7th July 1973. The 49-year-old actor has an illustrious career.

Adjetey Anang works include Ghanaian movies- The perfect picture, A sting in a tale, Deadly Voyage, and many others. He had also ventured into International movies like Dutch Film Slavery.

The actor Adjetey Anang received his education from Labone Senior High School. Later, he graduated from the University of Ghana. His graduation subject was Fine Arts. Further, he completed his Master’s degree in Dramatic Arts at Wits University.


As Adjetey Anang had studied performing arts, he is well familiar with the stage. He has attended several workshops conducted in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, the UK, and US.

Adjetey Anang’s experience in the show business spans 22 years. He has worked in various movies and TV series like Broken Heart, Life and Living it, The perfect Picture, Aloe Vera, and Sin City. Besides this, his works include many such great pieces.

One of his most revered works is Yolo. It is a Ghanaian TV series that advises and guides the youth of adolescence.

Moreover, the actor is also a lecturer in acting at the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI). Adjetey Anang teaches Bachelor’s degree students. He supervises Acting Certification courses as well. Anang has worked hard to get to where he is today in his life. Additionally, he was selected by the National Drama company for his acting debut.


7th EMY Award Nomination

EMY Africa Awards are the most prestigious awards in the film fraternity within Africa. The Yolo actor has brought home the trophy last year. Adjetey Anang won the 6th EMY Africa Award for the category of Actor of the year.

The winners will be announced on the 1st of October 2022 on Saturday. Moreover, It will broadcast on Joy Prime Ghana.
