Hocus Pocus 2 Deleted Scenes & Filming Locations Explored

Hocus Pocus 2, a sequel to the 1993 movie of the same name has finally released on September 30, 2022.

Hocus Pocus 2 is directed by Anne Fletcher, meanwhile, Jen d’Angelo is a scriptwriter. The viewers can watch this movie on the Disney Plus platform.


What is “Hocus Pocus 2” all about ?

Hocus Pocus 2 revolves around the Sanderson sisters who accidentally got resurrected to modern-day Salem by three young women. These women will now have to figure out the ways in which they can stop these child-hungry witches who are raising hell all over the world. So, they will have to stop the Sanderson sisters who are in Salem to seek vengeance.

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are among the main actresses that are going to take part in this movie. They will play the role of Salem Witches, namely Winifred Sanderson, Sarah Sanderson and Mary Sanderson.

Deleted Scenes

This new movie has a variety of callbacks, from catchphrases to Easter eggs. However, there is one section that the director chose not to materialize in the original Hocus pocus.


Not only that, many scenes in the movie, including the one in which Mary was staring at the baby and then Winnie shouting “No time for snacking!”, were cut as Disney wanted to make the movie “kid-centric and kid-friendly”.

Filming locations

The sources confirmed that the construction for the sets of Hocus Pocus 2 were in Chase Farms in Lincoln, Rhode Island, and Washington Square in Newport, Rhode Island. This news came wat back in September 2021. But, Filming only started from October 2021 to January 2022 in Rhode Island.

Atwells Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island

To cater to the demands of the movie, Atwells Avenue had to be converted into a spooky location. As a result, the mythical street names like “Gibbet Lane” were constructed in its place. Moreover, the team decided to convert a market in this location into a Halloween village to have a better effect.

Cranston Street Armory

Some parts of this gorgeous building are being used as film studios since 1996. It was constructed in 1906 at the cost of 650 thousand dollars. Besides, this building has also been named as “America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places”.


Washington Square, Newport

Washington Square is essentially the historical and geographical center Newport Rhode Island. To be specific, the shooting happened near 56 Spring Street in Newport. A full Halloween Carnival was created in this location for the same.

La Salle Academy, Providence, Rhode Island

This academy is a Roman Catholic private college preparatory school. The scene between Izzy, Becca and Cassie was specifically shot in this location.

Other prominent locations include Chase Farm, Lincoln, Rhode Island; Carpenter Cemetery, East Providence; Newman Congregational Church, Providence; Moses Brown School, Providence; Benefit Street; Cooke Street; Touro Street, etc.
