Doja Cat Pays Tribute to Elvis Star Shonka Dukureh

Doja Cat is among the numerous to grieve the demise of artist and entertainer Shonka Dukureh. Shonka Dukureh died at 44 years old. She was most popular for playing Big Mama Thornton in the biopic film Elvis.

Metro Nashville police division affirmed the star’s passing through a tweet on July 21.The tweet stated: “Dukureh, a Fisk Univ graduate, was found dead in the bedroom of her Kothe Way apartment that she shared with her 2 young children.”.

Shonka Dukureh was a renowned American Actress and Blues vocalist. The Tennessean says that Dukureh was from Charlotte, North Carolina, but, she later moved to Nashville.

She went to Fisk University for her four-year certification in the theater. Additionally, She also to Trevecca Nazarene University for her graduate degree in training. Dukureh’s site says that she intended to put out her most memorable full-length collection, “The Lady Sings the Blues,” soon.

Shonka Dukureh’s birthdate is 3 September 1977 and her origin is Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Not much is been aware of Shonka’s own life, yet she had two kids at the hour of her passing.

Dukureh’s job as Thornton, an R&B vocalist who was the principal craftsman to record the melody “Dog,” later made well known by Elvis Presley. It was her first memorable significant film appearance.

“Rest in Peace Shonka – an incredible talent was taken from us too soon. Was a true honor getting to know her and I am so grateful to her for lending vocals to ‘Vegas’” in her Instagram story
