Drew Brees, the 42-year-old quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, made his retirement announcement in March 2021. The Super Bowl champion quarterback actually asked his kids to record a video for his official Instagram account announcing his retirement.

He claimed in the caption that he gave New Orleans and the game of football everything he had. He also promised to continue collaborating with the people of New Orleans

Drew Brees wrote in a post on his Instagram profile

“I am only retiring from playing football, I am not retiring from New Orleans. This is not goodbye, but rather a new beginning. Now my real life‘s work begins!”

The quarterback made the decision to end his career in the NFL after 20 seasons during which he brought a Lombardi Trophy to New Orleans.

He claimed that the injuries he sustained in back-to-back seasons were what led him to reconsider his playing future. More importantly, the major objective was to spend more time with his family.
