Renowned Bodybuilder and Fitness Icon Doug Brignole is no more. The news of his tragic demise was confirmed by his close contacts.
On 13th October 2022, the news of his passing came. The bodybuilding and fitness worlds both are mourning the loss of Brignole.
He was a bodybuilding champion and well-known in the fitness community and died at the age of 62.
Doug Brignole Is No More
In a Facebook post, bodybuilding campaigner Joe Wheatley informed about the demise of the veteran body-builder on 13th October.
The post confirmed his death and various figures from the fitness world were also tagged. He wrote-
This one hurts really bad! May he rest in peace. Doug Brignole – 62 years old.”
He was at loss for words to explain more details. This news came just two months before his 63rd birthday. On December 15, Doug Brignole was about to be 63 years old.

Doug Brignole: Cause Of Death
The cause of death of the star is not yet confirmed. Even Wheatley who was the first to inform the news, wrote, “no more details.”
The Brignole family may release an official statement explaining the cause of the sudden departure of the Champion.
Doug Brignole had an illustrious career in the field of bodybuilding which spanned around four decades. Moreover, he bagged the prestigious crown of Mr. Universe in 1986 and again after 33 years.
His career in Bodybuilding began at the early age of 16. Even after several decades, he continued to brighten the fitness world with his presence. Doug was active in his career even after hitting the 50-mark.
Apart from being a fitness champ, bodybuilder, Brignole also wrote two books. The books namely–Million Dollar Muscle: A Historical And Sociological Perspective Of The Fitness Industry in 2012, and also The Physics of Resistance Exercise released in 2020.
A Trail Of Tributes For The Champ
Immediately, after Doug Brignole’s passing, a trail of tributes and condolences poured in. Further, fans started celebrating and remembering the legacy of the departed soul.
Veteran winner of the Mr. Universe pageant and trainer Richard Baldwin penned an emotional note reminiscing about their time in LA.
“He was a good friend, and it saddens me we will no longer be able to catch a workout and dinner next time I’m in LA.”
Even the opponents with whom he competed shared a tribute to mark their respects. Rob Harrop, one of his competitors poured his condolences.
“Rest in peace, Doug Brignole. You were an incredible bodybuilder person and friend.”
Various fans also showered the soul with their respects and started celebrating his life and achievements.
