Lady in the Lake Show Featuring Natalie Portman, Stopped Filming After Getting Local Threats

According to Baltimore’s Fox 5 News, Natalie Portman’s “Lady in the Lake” production got halted in Baltimore. This event took place on Friday after producers received threats. The makers of the Apple TV+ series were intimidated and attempted to be blackmailed, according to Baltimore police.

The crew was filming Lady in the Lake on the 200 blocks of Park Avenue downtown around 4 p.m. Several people approached the producers on the set. They threatened to return and shoot someone if the production did not stop filming. Chakia Fennoy, a spokeswoman for the Baltimore Police Department, spoke to Fox 5 News about the incident.

What Exactly Happened?

According to the Baltimore Police Department, a number of people approached the producers and asked them to stop filming. The crew was in the middle of a scene in the downtown area at around 4 o’clock.

In order for them to continue, the group claimed requested $50,000 from the production. If they didn’t get the money or stopped filming, the group allegedly threatened to come back and shoot someone.
A driver on the production crew was challenged by two males on the Lady in the Lake set in Baltimore on Friday afternoon before the cast and crew arrived as scheduled. One of the individuals pointed a gun at the driver before the men fled the scene.

Endeavor Content, the production company for the series Lady in the Lake, released a statement late Sunday saying, “We are cooperating with the Baltimore Police Department as the investigation is continuing.”

“We are grateful that no one got hurt because the safety and security of our staff, cast, and everyone else involved in our productions is our first priority. With additional security measures moving forward, production will restart.”
