And Measure for Measure opposite Sam Waterston and John Cazale within her first year in New York. Her first year in New York was spent in the Big Apple.

Even though Meryl Streep had never planned on having a career in acting. She was profoundly moved by Robert De Niro‘s performance in the film Taxi Driver (1976). After watching it, she thought, “That’s the kind of actor I want to be when I grow up.” Streep went on to have a successful career in Hollywood. Streep started by going to auditions for film parts. And she even tried out for the main role in Dino De Laurentiis’s King Kong, but she was ultimately unsuccessful.
