Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Might Have To Serve a Prison Sentence

Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty may have to serve out a prison sentence of 15 months. Federal Prosecutors suggest this in light of Kenneth failing to register as a s*x offender.

Federal Prosecutors Deny Kenneth Petty Home Confinement Sentence

It appears Kenneth Petty has failed to register as a s*x offender in the state of California. Now Federal Prosecutors

are denying his home confinement sentence.

Their argument is that him serving his home sentence in the couple’s mansion in Calabasas is not an adequate punishment.

This all started when in November of 2019, he relocated from New York to California during the process of which he failed to submit his s*x offender status. Authorities arrested him and they later released him on a bail of 20,000 dollars.

But it quickly came to light that he was still facing similar federal charges. This time for another arrest in March 2020.

The charges for this particular arrest arose from his case of first-degree attempt to rape in the year 1995. Also, they convicted him and he served four years of prison time for it.

Prosecutors’ Statements

Prosecutors’ statements in the court filing read, “The timing of defendant’s lapse in registration is concerning. Given that it occurred when defendant began dating his wife, quit his job, moved to Los Angeles, and adopted an affluent lifestyle”.

Later, the statement continues, “Defendant has been completing sex offender registration documents for nearly 20 years. Over the course of two decades, he was repeatedly warned that if he moved to another state, it was his responsibility to follow any local, city, state, federal, or international laws regarding registration”.

Taking all of these instances of his irresponsible actions into account, federal prosecutors now suggest prison time for Kenneth Petty. They have recommended that he serve 15 months of prison time, five years of supervised release, and $55,000 in retribution.

The court for this recommendation has scheduled his sentence hearing for July 6th.
