The former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe may have gone into pulmonary cardiac arrest after getting shot twice in the back while giving a speech. This incident took place while Shinzo was giving a speech in Nara City, Kansai.

Reportedly the gunman shot Shinzo Abe twice in the back. Videos taken at the scene of the shooting, show the Japanese politician immediately collapsing after the shots. Reporters at the scene claim after they heard the sound of gunshots they noticed the former Prime Minister bleeding on the ground

Hirokazu Matsuno, the Chief Cabinet Secretary released an official statement for the reporters, explaining the situation. His statement contained the details of the shooting and updates.
He said: “Former prime minister Abe was shot at around 11:30 local time (02:30 GMT) in Nara. One man, believed to be the shooter, has been taken into custody. The condition of former prime minister Abe is currently unknown.”
He also added: “Whatever the reason, such a barbaric act can never be tolerated, and we strongly condemn it”.
Witness Accounts Of The Incident
According to the people who were present at the scene of the crime, there noticed a man with a large gun. The man was standing behind Shinzo Abe. They then heard the sound of a gun going off twice during the speech.
The witnesses noted that the shooter showed no interest in fleeing the scene. Instead, they saw him waiting for the authorities to realize and initiate his arrest.
The NHK broadcast team reported that Abe was “conscious and responsive”.
They noticed the weapon the authorities took from the shooter. It appeared to be an improvised double-barrel shotgun, a rare sight in Japan. This is because as per Gun Policy Data after Singapore, Japan has the second lowest gun violence rate in the world.
Reportedly speculations suggest the gunman was a former member of Japan’s Maritime Self-Defence Force. The Maritime Self Defence is a naval defense branch of the Japan Self Defense Forces.
