Chaos broke out at the Wiz Khalifa concert as attendees were running amidst a shooting scare during an Indianapolis performance.

Cameron Jibril Thomaz was born on September 8, 1987. Better known by his stage name Wiz Khalifa, Cameron is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He released his debut album, Show and Prove, in 2006 and signed to Warner Bros. Records in 2007.

His Eurodance-influenced single “Say Yeah” received urban radio airplay. It charted on the Rhythmic Top 40 and Hot Rap Tracks charts in 2008, becoming his first minor hit.

The song, a tribute to his hometown of Pittsburgh, debuted at number 100 and eventually peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Wiz Khalifa Career And Achievements

By the age of 15, he was regularly recording his music in a studio called I.D. Labs. The management of the studio was so impressed by his lyrics that they allowed Khalifa to record for free. This allowed him to receive professional grade studio time at no cost to him.


Well known for his debut single for Atlantic, “Black and Yellow”, which helped him to peak at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In March 2015, he released “See You Again” for the soundtrack of the film Furious 7, and the song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 non-consecutive weeks.

Wiz Khalifa Concert And The Incident

Wiz Khalifa and Logic played a concert in Darien Lake, New York on Thursday night. The show began at 6.30 pm local time at the Indiana concert venue. However, the concert didn’t go as expected.

After hearing gunshots, the crowd started running towards the exit. Many fans updated their social media and claimed there was a beeline and chaotic exit due to the anxiety.

The concertgoers described the incident to the investigating officials. Some were not sure if it was really gunshots. Ian Hansen, who also attended concerts said he wasn’t sure if it was the gunshot, however, he noticed the crowd rushing towards the exit.

As per the report, the crowd were screaming about the potential public shooting. This creates a storm of panic, people were climbing the fences and running. It was suffocating to even stand there.

Mass shootings are very common at US concerts and schools. Thus, even the mere possibility of the shooting created an environment of terror.

Where the rapper, Logic opened the concert with no issue, the lead of Wiz Khalifa was cut off. Due to the stampede created, he had to cut his performance in between.

Police and Investigation

Police near San Jose said the shooting happened at a venue called the Shoreline Amphitheatre. Wiz Khalifa, Atlanta hip hop artist Jeezy and others were wrapping up a performance Friday night.

Police rushed to the outdoor venue after receiving multiple calls that shot fire. However, no arrests have made and officers were still looking for a male suspect. As per the sources, it seems he is to be in his 20s and armed with a handgun.


Also, the investigators asked concertgoers for photos or videos that might provide clues. People at the concert reported that Logic had completed his set. Wiz Khalifa was about six songs in when chaos erupted.
