Since Chromatica is not a real planet, it’s an artwork image, the artist who designed the first viral Planet Chromatica artwork is digital artist Michel Omar.

On May 29, 2020, Omar shared an image he had digitally created which features the logo seen on Lady Gaga’s Chromatica album cover. He, therefore, shared this image on both Twitter and Instagram thereby captioning the image

As a result, numerous internet users soon re-posted this image to their accounts, which caused NASA to automatically take the post and comment on the Michel Omar-created digital art image.

After the creator posted his amazing work of digital art on social media, other internet users shared it and adopted it, which led them to link that post to NASA.

The post of Instagram user who shared the digital art via his social media handle tweeted “According to NASA the Space X rocket is about to leave this planet to land on Chromatica.” He also accompanied the tweet with Omar’s art piece of the Chromatica image.

This, therefore, led to and caught the attention of NASA who tweeted in response “We’ll be your galaxy.” They used and expressed the direct reference to the lyrics of Gaga’s iconic song “Rain on Me”, her biggest hit from Chromatica, where in the song she sings “I’ll be your galaxy”.

Therefore it is just a rumor that NASA has named a planet after Lady Gaga’s Album.
