TikTok’s New Feature Inspired by ‘BeReal’

TikTok’s upcoming brand-new feature, “TikTok Now” will be available soon. The inspiration behind this new feature is from the popular application ‘BeReal’.

On 15th September (Thursday), in an article, “TikTok Now is the newest way to be entertained and connect with others on TikTok – a daily photo and video experience to share your most authentic moments with the people who matter the most.”

“TikTok Now brings the authenticity of TikTok to a whole new creative experience that connects you with those closest to you.”

“Making possible deeper connection and entertainment in a fun format, TikTok Now invites you and your friends to capture what you’re doing in the moment using your device’s front and back camera. You’ll receive a daily prompt to capture a 10-second video or a static photo to easily share what you’re up to.”

In the weeks ahead, the firm would be testing TikTok Now. While in the US it is accessible via the TikTok app, it might be available in other regions as a separate TikTok Now app.

Website visitors claim that TikTok is “copying” BeReal. This new function is receiving criticism. However, it is unclear at this point if it will be as popular as just the primary application.

What is ‘TikTok Now’?

TikTok is going to introduce a front and back camera function. It will be similar to BeReal’s well-liked regular picture notification.

On Thursday, the firm posted that ‘TikTok Now’ will give customers daily reminders. They have to utilize the front- and back-facing cams on their smartphones to record and upload 10-second films or still images.

In some sample photos, it is visible that “Now” is on the bottom navigation menu, adjacent to the post key.

Who can use ‘TikTok Now’?

As with TikTok’s conventional app, anyone under 16 who registers for a profile will by default have a secret identity.

Visitors below 18 won’t be capable of posting anything to the Explore section. Those who are below 15 will only be qualified to comment on their peer’s uploads.

TikTok stated, “We’re always looking to create seamless ways for our community to build authentic connections as they continue to be entertained on TikTok.”
