Who are Josephine Tewson’ Husband and Kids? The Sitcom Actress Died at 91

Mythical English theatre and TV personality actress Josephine Tewson is dead at age 91, a life well existing.

Josephine Tewson is recognized for her parts in British television sitcoms, such as Edna Hawkins in Shelley, Elizabeth “Liz” Warden in Keeping Up Appearances, and Miss Davenport in Last of the Summer Wine.

Tewson accompanied grammar before getting on to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She passed in 1952.

She began her acting profession as a comedy entertainer alongside Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker on the shows, David Frost, on Sunday and Hark at Barker.

Tewson then took off to appear on the BBC Radio Comedy program labelled Mostly Monkhouse which starred David Jason and Bob Monkhouse who were the lead.


After grammar school, Tewson studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, from which she passed in 1952.

Tewson is noted to have died from a natural reason quietly at her residence in Denville Hall. Good to add that Josephine Tewson’s cause of demise is yet to be ensured.

Josephine died on August 18, 2022, in Denville Hall, Northwood, in the United Kingdom. She was 91 years old.

Josephine Tewson’s Husbands

Josephine Tewson walked down the aisle twice in he lifetime. She was first wedded to Leonard Rossiter. Their marriage survived from 1958 to 1961. They originally connected at Salisbury Rep, where they were working together.

Also, Josephine Tewson later got married to Henry Newman for eight years.

And on 12 June 1972, the couple said “I do” in a delightful ceremony. This duration was between 1972 and 1980.


Tewson did not have any partner at the moment of her death. She was nevertheless twice married to actor Leonard Rossiter and dental surgeon Henry Newman
