After much debate, the Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid walked the court for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference playoffs on Friday night. The MVP frontrunner’s participation in the game had been up in the air all week. But he ultimately opted to attend.

As soon as the game began, Joel Embiid mask memes began to circulate on social media. Some refer to him as the Phantom of the Opera. It seems unlikely that Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers would succumb to their opponents without fighting.

The Sixers beat the Heat 99-79 in Game 3 of their second-round clash on Friday at the Wells Fargo Center. Cutting Miami’s series lead to 2-1 in favor of Philadelphia. He played in his first game since being into injury in the first round of the playoffs against the Toronto Raptors. He did so in a spectacular fashion after the victory.
