Tony Khan Talks WWE Shake-Up: The Competition will Be Changed

AEW’s Tony Khan has shared the WWE shake-up and competition change and what fans can expect from this.

WWE has gone through a group of changes in a couple of weeks. Tony Khan, the president of All Elite Wrestling commented on the shaken-up WWE and how the competition will change.

The changes started to show up at SummerSlam and this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. There is already a lot to consider as viewers wait to see how things impact WWE’s second major show SmackDown, this week.

What exactly is going on with WWE?

The WWE is going through major changes. With its former CEO and chairman Vince McMahon stepping down on July 22, the pro wrestling market is under new leaders.

McMahon resign in response to reports that more than $12 million in “hush money” payments were made to bury allegations of sexual misbehavior.

Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan are the new co-CEOs. While Triple H has taken over his old Executive Vice President position. Also, become the Creative lead of WWE.

What is Tony Khan’ thought?

While his interview with SportsGrid, Khan said that the changes in WWE would bring a huge change in competition. Such kinds of changes are good for wrestling.

Khan remarked, “I think that’s a positive thing. It’s going to change the competition. “There are many fans of AEW. We currently operate in 130 nations, and in the US, we have a devoted following.”

He added “The competition will alter. The individual seated across from me is different, but I don’t necessarily believe it will be a terrible thing for the wrestling fans.”

What does this mean for wrestlers?

According to Tony Khan, this change will mean a great deal to wrestlers. Great talent will be in greater demand than ever. Both the wrestlers and wrestling fans will be benefited. The fact that there are now more choices for free agency to improve it.

On this Khan said “I think great wrestlers are going to be in demand, probably more than before. And once more, free agency is one of the most exciting aspects of pro wrestling, so I believe this will likely be beneficial for the fans. It’s one of those things that was seriously lacking from the sport for over two decades before AEW entered because there wasn’t a true rival in the free agency market, and now there is.”

Khan remarked that the closure of WCW was one of the worst things to happen in American sports in his lifetime.
